Hey Docs…
I just got back from a week in Colorado. I stayed at C Lazy U Dude ranch. An amazing place. I highly recommend it. (www.clazyu.com)
Guests included real estate moguls, tech entrepreneurs, and even one of the top 5 best soccer players in the world.
Some arrived in their personal planes/jets and many own multiple vacation homes.
Business wise, I’m sure I wasn’t one of the least “successful” there but I certainly was not one of the most.
I spent a little time with the owner of the ranch who also runs many other successful businesses. Yet, both he and his wife “hung out.” Impressive.
These multi-millionaire guests were extremely present and seemed to be able to relax much better than I.
I was probably the only one who worked while vacationing.
…and here was my #1 take away:
SLOW DOWN
You are probably thinking, “Sure, they can slow down, they’re insanely wealthy!”
I don’t agree.
You have to slow down to become wealthy.
You have to slow down to think.
You have to compartmentalize more.
You have to automate, delegate, and always seek to eliminate.
Sell quality, not price.
…even if it costs more money.
Because compared to the financial return, the financial “cost” of improving, outsourcing, delegating, etc. is meaningless.
It’s an investment.
And slow down.
Success takes time.
Be patient.
P.S. – C Lazy U’s marketing is virtually invisible. Before you leave to return home, they invite you to the owner’s private residence on the property where they play a slide show of that week’s experience. They also send you home USB of all the video and pictures taken for you and follow-up with a personal post-week email from the owner.
Their staff (more than one staff per guest) is EXTREMELY professional, friendly, helpful, and most of all, sincere.
They get it… the more you improve your product/service/experience, the more invisible and effective the marketing becomes.
