Do Less… Better

D

I don’t know about you, but as a teenager, I saved up and bought my first car.

That is why I owned my first car at 18—not 16 like many of my friends.

…and it wasn’t a muscle car like everyone else’s.

It wasn’t a Chevelle, an SS Camaro, or a V8 Vega—cars owned by my buddies.

My first car was a 4 banger “Capri” that I bought for eleven hundred hard-earned bucks.

See, instead of buying us kids our first car, my parents did only what they valued and could afford: a private school education, good food, an if we were lucky, a yearly vacation that usually didn’t involve an airplane or a chair lift.

My father was a plumber and my mom was a school teacher who stopped working to stay home and raise us kids.

Why am I telling you this?

2 reasons.

#1 …

That car sucked and I even made it worse!

I ruined that thing.

I lowered it.

I tinted the windows.

I spray painted the rims.

I spend way too much money on the stereo.

I almost waxed the paint right off the car.

I wasted time and money on that car.

I did the wrong things.

Chiropractors do the same with their practice.

Here’s the 2nd reason why I am telling you this…

My parents focused on a few things but did those things very well.

I wish Chiropractors did the same for their practices.

I wish Chiropractors would do less… better.

See, Chiropractors don’t have a “new patient” problem but they do have a “Do Less….Better” problem.

They spread their mind, focus, thoughts, and activities way too thin.

They are unrealistic, impatient, and undeserving of success.

So if your practice isn’t where you want it to be, understand that it isn’t “the practice”…it’s you.

Now please don’t take get defensive or take this the wrong way. I care a lot about you and your practice.

But just realize that if you are looking for an excuse for how things are, how you are, and what your potential is, you’ll have no problem finding one. We all can come up with excuses that would make sense to the majority of friends, family, and people out there.

But if you want to transform your practice, you need to do less better, plain and simple.

I’d also like you to watch this Tony Robbins video today… maybe even share it with your spouse or significant other and especially listen to what Tony says about “Standards”.

Here’s the video…

I hope you watch this video a couple times, write some quotes down, and really put your thoughts on paper as to what you need to do differently, do less, and do better.
