The 3 Musts

T

Pretty much by accident, through the years I’ve established some habits that have served me well (and continue to do so).

In other words, this is my secret sauce. For sure.

They are simple, yet highly effective. (I’m a big fan of simple.)

These habits are my “3 musts”.

…and here they are.

1. I Plan each day the evening prior –

This is huge. My evening is my “pit stop”.

It’s when I plan the following day: what I am going to do, when in the day it’s going to get done.

Every minute and hour is planned out.

This is how I totally prevent anxiety and overwhelm.

That way, when I wake up in the morning, I don’t have to think much. What I must do is all written down… in advance.

The key is to stay on the list and to stay on time. Don’t let anything or anyone keep you from focusing on what you already decided needs to get done.

2. I nurture myself –

Personally, I take a nap each and every day at around 3 pm.

20 minutes tops.

It is my form of meditation.

It’s how I release any accumulated mental fatigue.

It’s also how I recharge my mind and body for the afternoon.

I highly recommend that you do the same either in your car or in a vacant adjusting room.

Whatever it takes.

I also workout 7 days a week and intermittent fast daily. (I don’t eat from 8 pm to 12 noon the following day.)

I don’t eat crap. Eating shouldn’t be for fun or to reduce stress. That’s for babies. Man up. Woman up. :))) Eat clean. It’s not hard to do.

…and I’m a big fan of getting rid of stuff. If I don’t use it and love it, I give it away. My ultimate goal is to own nothing.

I know it’s not possible or practical but I always start with the premise that to be happy and to feel free, I don’t need much material stuff.

3. Every morning, I expect that I am going to have another great day.

If I don’t start off in a good mood, then everything that follows becomes a drag.

I make a quick mental account of what I am grateful for.

I remind myself that I am in control and that I attract and create all the good and bad in my life. (Again, this may not be true, but it sure helps me stay responsible, get things done, and not waste time blaming situations or others. I like to feel as if I am in control even if I am not. It just feels better that way.)

My 3 simple “musts”.
